Roomba Paintings: 2006
The Roomba, a robotic vacuum, is used to create this series of paintings. I have converted the Roomba from a room-cleaning device to an art-maker by removing the dust collector and vacuuming system, and replacing it with a paint reservoir.
Artists have been playing with robots to make art since the 1950's. This body of work is an extension of this genre by re-purposing a readily-available commercial robot.
